Happy and Prosperous New Year, adventurers! 🎆🌟✨

We hope you’re ringing in the New Year with joy and excitement. As we step into January, there will be updates and changes to our gaming schedule, so please keep an eye on announcements.

Current Announcements & Updates

First Annual AtlantaPFS Lodge Survey – Your Feedback Matters: The first annual AtlantaPFS Lodge Survey is live and accepting responses. If you are comfortable and willing to provide anonymous feedback to help us improve, please see this post.

As the post mentions, this is just the first step in the data collection we will be doing to make sure we are providing the best experience possible to members of the AtlantaPFS Lodge. On January 1, a number of forms will go live on the website to collect your feedback. Links to the forms are included below, but they will not work until January 1. If the links below don’t work on or after January 1 (which may be the case based on how the pages are named upon publishing), the links to each form will be in the menus at the top, with most of them coming under the How to Get More Help item under News or under Contact Us. Those forms include:

  • Event Feedback Form: For small event and convention feedback from players, GMs, volunteers, Venture-Officers, venue staff and/or convention/event staff.
  • Event or Venue Request Form: If there is a venue or event you want us to support, submit this form; it will be reviewed, but we cannot always guarantee our ability to honor the request.
  • Adventure Request Form: For players and GMs to request the addition of specific adventures to our schedule at the venue or VTT of their choice.
  • Chronicle Sheet or Reporting Error Form: A multipurpose form for player and GM use to request a chronicle sheet that they do not have but should, as well as to indicate a game was reported on an incorrect character.
  • GM Feedback Form: For GMs to use to tell us how their games went, whether they felt prepared and supported by AtlantaPFS Venture-Officers, etc.
  • Player Feedback Form: For players to use to give feedback on their game day experiences, including feedback on how their GM did in running the game.
  • Player Game Withdrawal Feedback Form: For players who have to drop from a game and are willing to share why.
  • Venue and Event Staff Feedback: For venue and event/convention staff to provide insights on how things are going in dealing with AtlantaPFS.

Community Memorial Wall: A few weeks ago, we posed a question in one of our weekly updates to ask for community input about having a Community Memorial Wall set up on the website as a way to remember members of our local gaming community we’ve lost. You can share your thoughts via email to admin@atlantapfs.org or by leaving a comment on the post.

Holiday Schedule Adjustments: As a reminder, our usual Rocky Mountain Pizza Company game will not be held this week due to the New Year’s Day holiday.

Replacement Venue for Rocky Mountain Pizza Company: There has been some discussion about finding a replacement venue for Rocky Mountain Pizza Company, due to scheduling issues that have been forcing game day tables to be held outside. More details will come as I have them.

New Players: Your Welcome Starts Here!

🎉 Welcome to AtlantaPFS! 🎉 We are thrilled to have you join our community of adventurers. To get started, check out our welcome letter.

🕹️ Tabletop RPGs are for EVERYONE—no experience required!

We understand that joining a new group of people can feel intimidating, especially if you’re stepping into an unfamiliar gaming environment. That’s why we want to emphasize the welcoming and social nature of our game days. Whether you’re a seasoned adventurer or brand new to the tabletop RPG world, you’ll find our tables are designed to be friendly, flexible, and fun!

Key things to know:

  • 🪄 Drop in and play—no long-term commitment required
  • 🎭 Play any character you want (within level guidelines)
  • 🤝 Our GMs are here to help you have fun, not to judge
  • 📚 Organized Play uses a “Core Assumption” model that minimizes additional material costs
  • No group is too established to welcome new friends! Or Nufriends, for our Skittermander fans. Everyone comes to the table as equals, ready to share in the adventure.

For more information, visit these pages on our website:

Our sessions bring together players from all walks of life, and each game is an opportunity to meet new people and build lasting connections. The rotating nature of our games means that every session is a fresh start—a chance to share laughter, strategy, and storytelling with a new mix of players.

We’re here to ensure that you feel supported, encouraged, and most importantly, included. If you’re nervous about how you’ll fit in, don’t worry—our community thrives on making everyone feel like they belong.

🛡️ Tabletop RPGs are for EVERYONE—no experience required!

We want to be crystal clear: You do NOT need to be an expert to join us. Our tables are 100% welcoming to new players, and we mean that. The rotating nature of our games is actually one of their greatest strengths—it creates an environment where everyone, whether new or returning, has the chance to meet fresh faces and enjoy a unique experience each session. This social dynamic makes every game day a fantastic opportunity to forge new connections and build friendships. No expectations, no pressure. Just come as you are and enjoy the adventure!

Additionally, new players have expressed common concerns:

  • 😰 Fitting in with a new and unfamiliar group of players.
  • ⚔️ Being expected to fill specific roles, such as healer or tank, within the game.
  • 🔄 The lack of consistency in group composition compared to a home game, where the same people usually play together regularly.

We want to address these concerns by assuring you that there are no strict expectations for players to fill specific roles. Our games are designed to be flexible and adaptable, ensuring everyone has a fun and enjoyable experience.

🎁 Achievement Points (AcP): By signing up for Paizo Organized Play on Paizo.com, you’ll automatically receive 80 Achievement Points (AcP) that you can use to buy cool in-game boons for your character!

Our schedule is subject to change, whether because of not having enough sign-ups or life happening. In order to provide the best experience possible, we try to cancel 2 days in advance, whenever it is possible. Rather than have you travel to a venue where the game has been called off, you cam always stay updated on changes by following our Warhorn schedule, checking out the AtlantaPFS Event Calendar, or subscribing to our event calendar. 📅

🚀 Exciting News: Warhorn Has a New Home! Big things are happening! The Organized Play Foundation (OPF) has officially taken over Warhorn, ensuring that the event scheduling platform we rely on will continue to be available for our community. This is great news for all of us, and you can read the full announcement on their website. 🎉

🌌 Starfinder 2E Playtest Continues! The Starfinder 2E Playtest runs through December 31! Everyone is encouraged to try it out and provide feedback to help shape the future of Starfinder. Don’t miss the chance to have your voice heard and contribute to this exciting new edition! If you have any questions or are curious to learn more, visit the Starfinder Playtest page. 🚀

📝 Paizo Requests Your Feedback! This message comes from Alex at Paizo, the Organized Play Coordinator and head of the Organized Play program. It was shared on the Venture-Officer Discord and requested to be made public.

Paizo Organized Play is seeking feedback on our programs as we look to Starfinder Second Edition and beyond. Whether you’ve been playing Organized Play for years, have just joined the Society, or haven’t yet played a game with us, we’re looking for your thoughts on our programs.

The survey below should only take a few minutes to complete, and the data will be invaluable to the future of our programs. We are explicitly looking for feedback from both OP participants and non-participants, so please encourage your communities to complete it!
