Venues Where we Play

The Local Gaming Community

We engage with the local gaming community in a number of ways.

As our Warhorn and Local Venues pages show, we offer Organized Play events with Paizo’s Pathfinder and Starfinder games at numerous venues throughout Metro Atlanta. These local events qualify for a few of Paizo’s programs – the Retail Incentive Program, which encourages players and GMs to support the venues where we run with in-game rewards, and the Regional Support Program, which offers additional Achievement Points for use on the Paizo site to purchase boons for current or future characters.

We strive to have a mutually beneficial relationship with our venue and convention partners. Supporting the venues helps to foster that relationship.

We also participate in local conventions which offer games for participants both local and otherwise.

We currently maintain a presence at Dice & Diversions, Marietta the Gathering, WreckCon, NerdiGras, MomoCon, Southern-Fried Gaming Expo, DragonCon, and Multiverse.

Outside of these, we hold special events for members of the Atlanta lodge in conjunction with the Athens lodge, such as our holiday party and Not-a-Con.

Additionally, we have virtual offerings for players unable to join us in person.

We are always looking for more venues and conventions to support. If you have any in mind where you think we would be a good fit, feel free to submit a request via the Support link and we will review and consider the request.

Outside the local area

We also support and/or participate in regional, national, and international conventions, whether in person or virtually, in support of Paizo’s Organized Play program.

These larger conventions tend to include direct participation from Paizo staff and, at times, have been when and where new product releases/announcements have taken place.

Rebuilding

As with a number of groups, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, we were not offering public game sessions at most of our venues. As a result, we are in a rebuilding state, just getting back into some of our venues as of 2023, and actively looking for new members, whether as players, GMs, or possibly future Venture-Officers.

The Atlanta Area of Responsibility (AoR) includes Metro Atlanta, Warner Robins, and Columbus/Fort Benning. The below list includes venues where we are currently active, have been active previously but are not currently, and where we have been told we are welcome to run sessions but have yet to be able to do so.

Though walkups are welcome, Organized Play has rules around legal table sizes (minimum of 2 players to a maximum of 6, though higher level scenarios have a minimum of 3). Signing up for games is not mandatory, however, if a GM does not have enough players signed up in advance, they may cancel the game, so advanced sign-ups are encouraged.

Traffic

Anyone who’s driven in, through, or near the Greater Metro Atlanta area knows that traffic can be horrendous. Navigating to your Friendly Local Gaming Store (FLGS) or other favorite venue can become a challenge as a result. To try to help players and GMs make it to game days with as much ease as possible, two links are being included here – one is for Atlanta Traffic and the other is for the Atlanta Braves schedule. Why the Braves schedule? That added traffic has either a direct impact on venues (Titan Games & Comics is extremely close to the stadium) or an indirect impact by adding that many more cars to the road. What else makes traffic in Atlanta bad? The weather!

A few words about our scheduling

Each venue or VTT listing below spells out our normal scheduling frequency for the location or VTT. Our normal scheduling frequency is subject to change based on venue need/availability, VO/GM availability, and our local convention & event schedule. The link at the bottom of each venue or VTT listing will take you to a filtered view of our Warhorn event page that only shows that specific venue or VTT, where we manage our event schedule, player/GM sign-ups, and our waitlist.
