AtlantaPFS Weekly Update
βοΈ Back from the Brink β Your Weekly Update Returns πΏ
Greetings, Pathfinders and Starfinders! You may have noticed there was no weekly update last week. There’s a reason for that: the weekly update author took an unexpected detour through the realm of emergency medicine. Pharasma, it seems, came calling β and was politely but firmly informed that this was not, in fact, a good time.
After an emergency thrombectomy and a brief but thoroughly unplanned hospital stay, things are back on track. We are grateful for the community’s patience and good wishes during the gap.
We have a lot of good news to share this week: a reopening lodge in West Virginia, continued DragonCon momentum, updates to our venues, and a full week of games on the schedule. Let’s get to it β there are tables to fill and adventures to run.
π’ Current Announcements & Updates
π DragonCon 2026 β We Still Need You
DragonCon 2026: September 3β7, 2026 (Labor Day Weekend)
The drumbeat continues: DragonCon is our flagship regional event, and we need GMs and HQ staff committed early so we can build the best possible schedule. The strength of everything we offer at DragonCon β the number of tables, the systems we support, the specials we can run β comes down to how many volunteers raise their hands now.
Our plan for a cinematic run of The Battle of Hellknight Hill alongside our regular PF2 and SF2 offerings only works if we have the people to make it happen. Don’t assume someone else will cover it.

π° Bridging the Gap 2026 β Online Convention This Month
May 22β25, 2026 (Memorial Day Weekend)
With PaizoCon Online 2026 canceled, the Organized Play Online Region is running Bridging the Gap 2026 as a virtual convention alternative. Highlights include VTT games across multiple platforms, Play-by-Discord/Post through August 14, multi-table specials for PF1, PF2, and Starfinder, early access to June releases, and charity support for Room to Read.
Registration: Warhorn | Community: Discord | Info: Paizo Forums
π Virtual Gaming Policy β Local Player Priority (Reminder)
A quick reminder for anyone who missed this in the last update: Atlanta and Columbus lodge members now have Early Sign-Up Rights for most virtual games. To claim your lodge role on Warhorn, navigate to the AtlantaPFS Warhorn Page, select “Email the event staff,” and provide your Warhorn name and lodge (Atlanta or Columbus). This is a manual process β please be patient while we process requests.
Virtual games now run Tuesday AND Wednesday evenings (Atlanta) and Thursday evenings (Columbus). Check the schedule below for this week’s offerings.
ποΈ In Memoriam: Lee McLurkin
We continue to hold space for the memory of Lee McLurkin, whose loss touched so many in our community. A fitting tribute is being prepared for DragonCon later this year, and a memorial will be added to our Hall of Heroes once complete. Our thoughts remain with his family and all who knew him.
π Hall of Heroes
Visit our Hall of Heroes page to honor those we’ve lost from our gaming community. This memorial page celebrates the lives and legacies of lodge members who are no longer with us.
π¬ Rocky Horror Picture Show Night β Poll Still Open!
We are still collecting availability for our AtlantaPFS outing to The Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Plaza Theatre on Ponce de Leon Avenue. If you haven’t filled out the poll yet, please do β the more responses we have, the better we can pick a date that works for the most people.
WhenIsGood: AtlantaPFS Invades the Rocky Horror Picture Show
This social event is open to the wider GeorgiaPFS and Appalachian Region community. Costumes and callbacks are strongly encouraged.

π Morgantown, WV Lodge Reopening β Learn to Play Sessions This Month!
This is a big one: the Morgantown, West Virginia lodge is reopening! The Clarksburg/Morgantown area lodge has been quiet for a while, but that is changing fast. Learn to Play sessions are happening this month (May), and the plan is to kick off official Pathfinder and Starfinder Society play in June at Wyvern’s Rest.
If you are in the Morgantown area β or know anyone who is β now is the perfect time to get connected. A lodge reopening is exactly the kind of ground-floor opportunity that lets new players become community pillars. Reach out through the GeorgiaPFS Discord or contact Joel H for details on how to get involved.
This is fantastic news for the Appalachian Region, and we are thrilled to welcome Morgantown back to the table.
Urgent: Venture-Officer Openings in Chattanooga & Charleston, WV
Two important leadership needs remain open and we want to be direct about them:
- Chattanooga, TN: The Venture-Lieutenant overseeing the Chattanooga lodge has stepped down. The lodge has great bones and a real player community β it needs a dedicated VO to keep the momentum going. If you are local or willing to step up, we want to hear from you.
- Charleston, WV: We are actively recruiting to establish a brand-new lodge in the Charleston area. This is a ground-up opportunity: help build something new, shape what organized play looks like in your city, and be the reason a whole community of players finds Pathfinder and Starfinder Society. If you know someone in Charleston who loves organized play, please point them our way.
Interested in either opportunity? Reach out through the GeorgiaPFS Discord or at rvcapparegionop@gmail.com.
We Need Players and GMs β Everywhere, But Especially Here
The Appalachian Region is growing, but growth only happens when real people show up to tables and behind GM screens. We always need more players and GMs across the region, but a few lodges are in particular need of additional support right now:
- Mebane, NC β Tables are running but could use more consistent turnout and GMing support.
- Charlotte, NC β A major metro area that deserves more organized play presence.
- Memphis, TN β Western Tennessee organized play needs both players and GMs to stay visible.
- Nashville, TN β Strong potential, needs more regular GM support to grow the schedule.
If you live near any of these communities, or are willing to travel occasionally, your presence at a table makes a real difference. You don’t have to be a Venture-Officer to help β just showing up, playing, and eventually GMing is the foundation everything else is built on. Please reach out if you are interested in contributing.

π Upcoming Events
π Free RPG Day 2026 β June 27
Free RPG Day: Saturday, June 27, 2026
Free RPG Day is an annual event where participating local game stores offer free roleplaying game products and often host special events to introduce new players to different systems.
Important reminder about participating venues: Free RPG Day kits must be ordered in advance by the store. If your Friendly Local Game Store (FLGS) does not appear on the Free RPG Day store locator at freerpgday.com/gamers, they did not order kits and are not a participating venue for this year. Please check the locator before making plans.
Additionally, Free RPG Day content can only be run on Free RPG Day itself at a participating venue β or one month later, once it clears for general use. Plan your gaming accordingly!
Current local participating stores:
- Giga-Bites Tabletop Cafe (Marietta)
- Level-Up Games β Alpharetta
- Level-Up Games β Duluth
- Level-Up Games β Dawsonville
This list may grow. Always verify with the official store locator and check with your chosen store about their hours and event plans for the day.
πͺ MomoCon 2026 β Coming Up Fast!
MomoCon 2026: May 21β24, 2026 β Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA
MomoCon is just around the corner! Our organized play schedule has been submitted. Remember: game registration is through tabletop.events, not Warhorn, and MomoCon has moved to a per-game charge model this year. Those fees are set by MomoCon and tabletop.events β not AtlantaPFS. Watch the GeorgiaPFS Discord #momocon channel for sign-up links as the schedule goes live.
π² Southern-Fried Gaming Expo 2026
July 31 β August 2, 2026 β The Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel & Convention Center
AtlantaPFS is planning organized play support at Southern-Fried again this year. Details are still being finalized β watch for a GM and HQ volunteer call soon(ish) on the GeorgiaPFS Discord and the Appalachian Region calendar.
π DragonCon 2026 β September 3β7
Five days of organized play, thousands of attendees, and our biggest regional showcase of the year. The volunteer form is open now and early sign-ups directly shape what we can offer. Sign up here.

π² Back at the Table β And Glad to Be Here
It is good to be back. Last week’s absence was unplanned and unwelcome, but this community kept right on gaming β which is exactly what this community does.
We have a lodge reopening in Morgantown, a full slate of games across Atlanta venues and Foundry, MomoCon right around the corner, and DragonCon recruiting in full swing. There is a lot to be excited about β and a lot of ways to be part of it.
If you are in the neighborhood of a lodge that needs support, show up. If you have been thinking about GMing, now is the time. If you can spare even a few slots at DragonCon, please sign up. Every table matters, and every volunteer makes the whole thing stronger.
Roll well, Pathfinders. We will see you at the tables. βοΈπ
