AtlantaPFS Weekly Update

πŸŽͺ MomoCon’s Still Going β€” Come Find Us! πŸš€

Pathfinders and Starfinders β€” MomoCon is still in full swing through Sunday, May 24! If you haven’t made it out to the Georgia World Congress Center yet, there’s still time to find our tables and get in on organized play. Come say hello, grab a seat, and roll some dice with us.

Once the convention dust settles, we’re back to our regular schedule next week β€” with a packed Wednesday at Manuel’s Tavern (two tables running!) and a Saturday adventure at Level-Up Dawsonville. Details below.

Also: a heads-up on virtual gaming β€” our AtlantaPFS virtual lodge is sunsetting. Read on for what that means and what’s coming next on that front. βš”οΈπŸŒŸ

πŸ“’ Current Announcements & Updates

πŸŽͺ MomoCon 2026 – Still Going Through Sunday!

MomoCon 2026: May 21–24, 2026 – Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, GA

The convention runs through Sunday! If you’re attending, game registration is through tabletop.events. Watch the GeorgiaPFS Discord #momocon channel for sign-up links and real-time updates throughout the weekend.

🌐 Atlanta Lodge Virtual Games – What’s Changing

The VOs who have been running virtual games through the Atlanta lodge are wrapping up their remaining sessions and moving their ongoing presence to the official Organized Play Online Region. If you’ve been playing in those games, the Online Region is a great place to continue β€” here’s a temp link to their Discord: https://discord.gg/8RY8D7V59. Any questions, reach out to James R.

Virtual play through Atlanta isn’t going away, though. Fantasy Grounds Starfinder Society games are coming back through the lodge soon β€” more on that below.

This also has no impact on the Columbus lodge’s virtual offerings. Columbus virtual games continue as normal β€” the shared Warhorn event page serves both lodges independently.

πŸš€ Fantasy Grounds Starfinder Society – Coming Back Soon!

Good news for FG fans: Fantasy Grounds SFS games are making a comeback through AtlantaPFS β€” and soon. Keep an eye on the GeorgiaPFS Discord and Warhorn for announcements as sessions get scheduled. If Fantasy Grounds is your preferred VTT, now is a great time to dust off your characters.

πŸ‰ DragonCon 2026 – We Need You. Seriously.

DragonCon 2026: September 3–7, 2026 (Labor Day Weekend)

Let’s be direct: DragonCon is less than four months away, and we do not yet have enough volunteers to run the event we want to run. Tables we can’t staff don’t get scheduled. Specials we can’t crew don’t get offered.

Our plan for a cinematic run of The Battle of Hellknight Hill alongside our regular PF2 and SF2 offerings is exciting β€” but it is contingent on having people. GMs. HQ staff. Volunteers willing to give a few slots of their DragonCon weekend to make something special happen for hundreds of players.

If you have ever thought about GMing at DragonCon, this is your year. Every single volunteer commitment changes what we can offer. The form takes five minutes.

πŸ•ŠοΈ In Memoriam: Lee McLurkin

We continue to hold space for the memory of Lee McLurkin, whose loss touched so many in our community. A fitting tribute is being prepared for DragonCon later this year, and a memorial will be added to our Hall of Heroes once complete. Our thoughts remain with his family and all who knew him.

πŸ† Hall of Heroes

Visit our Hall of Heroes page to honor those we’ve lost from our gaming community.

🎬 Rocky Horror Picture Show Night – Poll Still Open!

We are still collecting availability for our AtlantaPFS outing to The Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Plaza Theatre on Ponce de Leon Avenue. If you haven’t filled out the poll yet, please do β€” more responses means a better date for everyone.

WhenIsGood: AtlantaPFS Invades the Rocky Horror Picture Show

This social event is open to the wider GeorgiaPFS and Appalachian Region community. Costumes and callbacks are strongly encouraged.

πŸŽ‰ Morgantown, WV Lodge – Learn to Play Happening Now!

The Morgantown, West Virginia lodge reopening continues to build momentum. Learn to Play sessions are happening this month, with official Pathfinder and Starfinder Society play set to kick off in June at Wyvern’s Rest. If you are in the Morgantown area β€” or know anyone who is β€” now is the perfect time to get connected. Reach out through the GeorgiaPFS Discord or contact Joel H for details.

Urgent: Venture-Officer Openings in Chattanooga & Charleston, WV

Two important leadership needs remain open:

  • Chattanooga, TN: The Venture-Lieutenant overseeing the Chattanooga lodge has stepped down. The lodge has great bones and a real player community β€” it needs a dedicated VO to keep the momentum going.
  • Charleston, WV: We are actively recruiting to establish a brand-new lodge in the Charleston area. Help build something new and be the reason a whole community of players finds organized play.

Interested in either opportunity? Reach out through the GeorgiaPFS Discord or at rvcapparegionop@gmail.com.

We Need Players and GMs β€” Especially Here

A few lodges are in particular need of additional support right now:

  • Mebane, NC – Tables are running but could use more consistent turnout and GMing support.
  • Charlotte, NC – A major metro area that deserves more organized play presence.
  • Memphis, TN – Western Tennessee organized play needs both players and GMs to stay visible.
  • Nashville, TN – Strong potential, needs more regular GM support to grow the schedule.

πŸ“£ Coming Soon: Appalachian Region on Mastodon!

Approval for the Appalachian Region Mastodon account has come through! The account is not live yet, but it is coming soon. We’ll announce the handle when it launches β€” follow along on Discord, Facebook, X, and BlueSky for the news.

Welcome to organized play! Whether you’re brand new to tabletop RPGs or a veteran player exploring Society play for the first time, we’re here to help you get started.

πŸ€— Safe, Welcoming Tables for All

Everyone is welcome at our tables. Pathfinder and Starfinder Society organized play is committed to providing a safe, fun, and inclusive gaming environment for all participants worldwide, regardless of background, identity, or experience level.
