Hope you’re all doing well! This year’s DragonCon is extra special – it’s the local launch for Starfinder 2nd Edition!
If you’ve already signed up – thank you! You got the schedules you wanted unless I’ve reached out to you separately to discuss changes.
If you haven’t signed up yet – I’m still recruiting Volunteers for the convention, happening August 28 – September 1, 2025.
Why should you volunteer?
This is a great chance to share your love of Pathfinder Society and Starfinder Society while getting some awesome benefits:
• Free DragonCon Badge – Run just 5 five-hour time slots and receive a complimentary convention badge. Skip the badge pickup lines – your badge will be held at Gaming HQ (you’ll need to complete DragonCon’s Eventeny form to claim it)
• Free T-shirt – Available from DragonCon if you complete the Eventeny form by their deadline (timing TBD)
• Paizo Premier Support Benefits – Thanks to our Premier status with Paizo, volunteers who cover 6 five-hour slots will receive a free PDF valued up to $29.99
• Volunteer Vouchers – All volunteers receive $15 vouchers for each slot they cover
• Comp Game Tickets – Volunteers are eligible for complimentary game tickets (note: interactive specials are charity games requiring paid tickets)
• Community Impact – Help introduce new players to the joys of playing Goblins, Skittermanders, and everything in between while supporting the organized play community at one of the coolest gaming conventions in the Southeast
We have openings across all time slots, but we especially need help with weekend shifts. We’re currently about 61 slots short of our goal, so your participation really makes a difference!
One highlight: Saturday 2-7 PM is reserved for a Starfinder 1st Edition multi-table interactive special, and Sunday 2-7 PM features a Pathfinder 2 interactive special – we need at least 3 tables for each of these awesome events to run.
Most Needed Time Slots:
- Friday 9 AM – 2 PM and 2 PM – 7 PM
- Saturday 9 AM – 2 PM, 2 PM – 7 PM, and 8 PM – 1 AM
- Sunday 9 AM – 2 PM and 2 PM – 7 PM
Volunteer Roles Available:
- Table GMs – Run the games you signed up for (Campaign scenarios, Starters, or Quests on Demand). Whether you’re running adventures featuring mischievous Goblins or helpful Skittermanders, we’ll have at-table donations for in-game rewards again this year to benefit DragonCon’s charity partner, plus the charity boon raffle
- Starters – Hour-long learn-to-play sessions (walk-ups, no tickets required)
- Quests on Demand – 2-3 hour sessions (walk-ups, no tickets required)
- Headquarters – Help with player questions, mustering, raffle ticket sales, game ticket collection
- GM HQ – Check in GMs, ensure they’re prepared with required maps, minis, dice
- Character Creation HQ – Maintain iconic pregens tables and help players with character creation
