π DragonCon 2025 Wrap-Up: What an incredible convention! Our table count was up 41% over last year, pushing us closer to levels not seen since 2019, and the number of players who joined us was comparable to prior years. Planning for DragonCon 2026 will be handled by a committee, and we’ll be meeting in December to discuss our path forward. We’ve also been advised that game ticket pricing may be changing, and we may be in a different space within the same area next year due to accessibility improvements for ADA patrons accessing the vendor hall.
π¬ Discord Server Updates: The server updates are coming soon! Some changes may begin to appear this coming week.
π The Crazy Book Lady Schedule Change: Beginning in September, we will be changing weekends at The Crazy Book Lady. In September, we will host games the 2nd weekend (to allow DragonCon recovery), and beginning in October, we will be moving to the 1st weekend of the month.

Major Leadership Transition:
Joel here – stepping out from behind the admin curtain for a moment to share some big news. I’ve accepted a promotion to Regional Venture-Coordinator for Organized Play, overseeing a seven-state region (Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia). This fills the vacancy created when Doug Edwards retired as of July 31st. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together in Atlanta over the past 5 years as your Venture-Captain. Don’t worry – the screaming goats and I aren’t going anywhere! I’ll still be around locally, just maybe a bit less hands-on as I take on these broader regional responsibilities. I’ll still be putting out these weekly updates, handling website maintenance, and working on those upcoming Discord changes we mentioned. And that DragonCon planning committee I mentioned? That’s still going to be me and 2-3 other people, so I’ll definitely still have my hands on DragonCon in my own way. Plus, I’m working on a regional hub website where I’ll be attempting something similar to these updates on a much grander scale.
Please join me in congratulating James R on stepping up as our new Venture-Captain, Liam F on his promotion to Venture-Lieutenant, and Dennis B on becoming Venture-Captain of Columbus. These are all well-deserved promotions for incredible volunteers who will continue to make our community thrive!
