The Atlanta Pathfinder and Starfinder Society is entering an exciting new chapter alongside our partners at Level Up Games. Andrew, the owner of Level Up, has shared a comprehensive vision for the future of their stores. This “Leveling Up” process is designed to ensure that our hobby has a stable, high-quality home for years to come.
📍 The Evolution of the HQ: From Duluth to Buford
After a diligent two-year search, Level Up Games will transition its headquarters from Duluth to the Mall of Georgia area in Buford this June. While Duluth served as a foundation for the community, several factors made a move necessary:
- Infrastructure Challenges: The Duluth building reached a point of failure, specifically regarding the HVAC system. A replacement unit is not forthcoming, so it made the decision easy.
- Player Comfort & Safety: The move addresses long-standing issues with “blazing hot summers and freezing temperatures,” as well as concerns regarding shopping center security, parking lot maintenance, and limited restroom facilities.
- The “Village” Advantage: The new HQ will be located in the outdoor “Village” area (near the central plaza). Because it is an outdoor-facing suite, the store maintains its independence to set its own hours, ensuring our late-night gaming sessions are protected.
- Staff Sustainability: A core driver of this move is the ability to provide better facilities and fairer wages for the staff who support our games every week.
🗺️ A Vision for Greater Atlanta
This relocation is the financial engine that will allow Level Up to expand closer to where you live and work. By stabilizing the HQ, the team can now focus on:
- Westside Growth: Active site visits are underway for the Sandy Springs and Smyrna areas.
- Intown Exploration: Future targets for new locations include Tucker, Decatur, and Doraville.
- Athens Expansion: The Athens branch is currently expanding into a 3,000 sqft space to accommodate more community game nights.
⚔️ Highlights for Johns Creek: Pathfinder & Starfinder
As we continue our residency at Johns Creek Level Up Games every other Thursday night, we have specific updates for our local players:
- Your Home for Society Play: We remain fully committed to running Pathfinder and Starfinder Society games at this location. It remains a primary hub for our bi-weekly adventures.
- The 400 Corridor Move: Plans are already finalized to relocate the Johns Creek store closer to GA-400.
- A Larger Footprint: This upcoming move will feature a larger store footprint, specifically designed to provide more table space for players and a more robust selection of products to support our campaigns.
