๐ŸŒŸ The Stars Have Aligned for AtlantaPFS! ๐ŸŒŸ
๐Ÿš€ Everything is happening at once, and it's absolutely incredible! Right now, we're witnessing the perfect storm of awesome that's making this the most exciting time to be part of organized play in the Southeast. The galaxy just got bigger with Starfinder 2E's launch at Gen Con, we're about to bring that excitement home to Dragon Con in just 25 days, our community is expanding with new venues, and our leadership team is scaling up to handle it all. Whether you're a veteran spacefarer or someone who's never rolled a d20, there has never been a better moment to jump into the AtlantaPFS universe! ๐ŸŽฒ

This newsletter is packed with everything you need to know about these game-changing developments, how they all connect, and most importantly, how YOU can be part of this incredible momentum. From the brand-new Starfinder 2E system debuting at our biggest convention, to new places to play and fresh faces leading the charge, we're not just riding the wave of excitement – we're creating it! โœจ

๐ŸŒŒ The Perfect Storm: Four Forces Converging

1. ๐Ÿš€ The Galaxy Just Got Bigger - Starfinder 2E Has Launched!

Gen Con 2025 just witnessed gaming history in the making! Paizo officially launched Starfinder 2nd Edition and the brand-new Starfinder Society Season: Year of Invasion's Edge. This isn't just an update – it's a complete reimagining of science fantasy RPGs that brings all the innovation of Pathfinder 2E's acclaimed system to the stars.

The Starfinder 2E Player Core is now available alongside the Combat Pad, and the adventures are already flowing with Murder in Metal City and Era of the Eclipse ready to transport players into this new era. Digital tools are live too – Hephaistos for Starfinder 2E and Archives of Nethys for Starfinder 2E mean you can start building characters and diving into the mechanics right now!

But here's what makes this launch special for our community: we're not just watching from the sidelines. AtlantaPFS is positioned to be THE place in the Southeast where this new system comes alive, where new players discover what makes science fantasy RPGs incredible, and where veterans can explore a completely fresh take on the genre they love.

2. ๐Ÿ‰ We're Bringing It Home - Dragon Con in 25 Days!

Dragon Con isn't just another convention for us – it's the Southeast's premier gaming event with over 80,000 attendees, and this year, we're making history. AtlantaPFS will be debuting Starfinder 2E to the Southeast at Dragon Con (August 28 – September 1)!

Picture this: while other regions are still reading about the new system online, Dragon Con attendees will be actually PLAYING it. We're bringing Starfinder 2E to the convention floor with special sessions designed to showcase everything that makes this new system special. Our volunteer GMs are getting exclusive Slot 0 training sessions before the convention even begins, ensuring that every table delivers an incredible first impression of this revolutionary game.

The numbers are staggering: We'll be running games from Thursday evening through Monday afternoon at AmericasMart Building 3, with slots running 9 a.m.–2 p.m., 2 p.m.–7 p.m., and 8 p.m.–1 a.m. across the weekend. That's dozens of opportunities for convention-goers to experience both classic Pathfinder Society and cutting-edge Starfinder 2E.

And we're making it even more special with our Dragon Con Charity Drive supporting the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Our innovative TIP MENU system lets players donate for in-game boons, from simple rerolls ($1) all the way up to the legendary SCREAMING GOAT TIER ($50) – where you gain ALL the boons if you scream in character at the table! It's gaming for a great cause with unforgettable moments.

3. ๐Ÿข Room for Everyone - We're Growing Our Community

Timing is everything, and our community expansion couldn't be more perfect. Level-Up Games in Dawsonville has joined the AtlantaPFS family, giving us a powerful new venue right as interest in organized play is exploding. This isn't just about having more tables – it's about being ready for the wave of new players who are going to discover what we're all about.

Steve H stepped up last month as a Venture-Officer at Wally's Retro Wonder, and then something incredible happened – he discovered and brought us Level-Up Games in Dawsonville, becoming our new Venture-Agent there. His quick transition from new team member to venue expansion leader perfectly exemplifies the kind of initiative and growth mindset that's driving our community forward. When Dragon Con attendees ask "Where can I play more of this?" we now have even more great answers.

We're also fine-tuning our existing venues for maximum impact. The Crazy Book Lady is shifting to a new schedule starting in September – we'll host games the 2nd weekend in September (perfect for Dragon Con recovery!), then move to the 1st weekend of each month beginning in October. Every detail is being optimized to serve our growing community better.

4. ๐Ÿ‘ฅ The Team to Make It Happen - Leadership Scaling Up

Great events don't run themselves, and incredible communities don't grow by accident. That's why we're thrilled to announce that our leadership team is expanding right alongside our ambitions:

๐Ÿ† Alex H has been promoted from Venture-Agent to Venture-Lieutenant! His continued excellence in supporting our community, especially in the VTT space with Foundry, has earned this well-deserved advancement. Alex will be crucial in helping us manage the digital side of our Starfinder 2E rollout.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Chris K has joined our team as Venture-Agent for Manuel's Tavern, bringing fresh perspective and energy to one of our core venues. Having additional leadership at Manuel's means we can run more tables and provide better support for both new and experienced players.

This isn't just about having more people – it's about having the RIGHT people in place as we enter this incredible period of growth. When Dragon Con brings us new players excited about Starfinder 2E, when our expanded venue capacity attracts more regular attendees, and when the gaming community looks to see who's leading organized play in the Southeast, we want them to see a team that's prepared, passionate, and ready to make every game table legendary.

๐ŸŒŸ Lodge Achievements & Recognition

Beyond our exciting staff additions, we continue celebrating the incredible volunteers who make AtlantaPFS possible:
๐ŸŽ‰ James R's Epic Milestone: 150+ tables of adventures, countless critical successes, and probably a few spectacular failures that became legendary stories. When James earned his 5th Glyph recognition from Paizo at Manuel's Tavern, it represented not just personal achievement, but hundreds of hours of preparation, storytelling, and community building that have enriched our entire gaming family.

These achievements matter more than ever as we prepare for Dragon Con and the Starfinder 2E rollout. Experienced GMs like James will be crucial in showing new players what makes organized play special, while our expanding leadership team ensures everyone gets the support they need to succeed.

๐Ÿงญ Volunteer Opportunities

Dragon Con is coming fast! While the volunteer period has closed, we're still coordinating final details and may have last-minute opportunities. Even if you can't volunteer this year, start thinking about 2026 – being part of the Dragon Con team is an incredible experience.

We always need volunteers as GMs, HQ staff, and support for both big conventions and small local events. With our expansion and the Starfinder 2E launch, there are more opportunities than ever to get involved. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Ready to join the team? Fill out the Volunteer Form

๐ŸŒŸ Now Recruiting for Multiverse!

Speaking of conventions, we're recruiting volunteers for Multiverse 2025 (October 17-19 in Peachtree City, GA). This fantastic convention will be another great place to showcase both classic Pathfinder Society and new Starfinder 2E games. Whether you're interested in GMing or helping with event coordination, we'd love to have you join our team.

Important Note: While we've been invited to participate in all listed events, we may not have the volunteer bandwidth to attend every one. Being listed doesn't mean we will be able to attend, but it does mean we value the invitation to participate in the event. We list them to keep the community informed of opportunities and to show our appreciation for being asked to participate.

Have an event you'd like us to consider? Use our Event or Venue Request Form above to let us know about conventions, gaming days, or venues where you'd like to see AtlantaPFS represented!
