DragonCon is coming!

Hello Pathfinders and Starfinders,
Thank you for being part of the AtlantaPFS organized play community and for everything you have already done to support our games. Some of you have already signed up for DragonCon 2026 (thank you, sincerely), and others told us you are interested in helping when you can. This email is your invitation to claim your spots for this year’s show and help us make Pathfinder and Starfinder Society at DragonCon run smoothly.
Before you jump into the form, please take a few minutes to review these pages so you know what each role involves and what DragonCon expects of us:
The Volunteer Positions and Volunteer Information pages give you the high‑level overview of roles and expectations for AtlantaPFS volunteers in general. The DragonCon Volunteer Guide is our DragonCon‑specific operations guide: it explains how AtlantaPFS fits into DragonCon’s Campaign RPGs area, what the weekend looks like from the GM and HQ side, and how we handle accessibility, safety, charity support, and reporting. The “2025 Event Specifics” section on that page still points to last year’s dates and logistics and will be updated with 2026 details before the end of May, so treat that section as a placeholder for now and focus on the process and expectations, which still apply.

How DragonCon 2026 sign‑ups work

This year’s DragonCon volunteer form is a self‑scheduling tool, not an “availability survey.” When you check a box, you are committing to that slot and that assignment, not just saying “I could probably be free then”.
Please review the DragonCon 2026 Volunteer Form here:
Key points from the form instructions:
  • You may sign up for a maximum of 6 slots across the weekend. This is our anti‑burnout policy so you stay sharp instead of becoming a walking skeleton by Sunday night.
  • If you are genuinely a glutton for punishment and want to work more than 6 slots, please sign up for no more than 6 on the form and then email me directly at joel@atlantapfs.org so we can talk through whether adding more is healthy and where the extra coverage would help most.
  • When the form asks how many slots you want to cover, match your selections to that number. If you say “3 slots”, select exactly 3 checkboxes, not every box that fits your possible schedule.
  • Only select slots and positions you genuinely want to work. It is much easier on everyone if we start from realistic commitments instead of overscheduling and backing out later.

Check the planning schedule first

The Google Sheets planning schedule is our source of truth for what is actually scheduled and which slots still need coverage:
The form uses a draw‑down system to hide full slots, but technology occasionally lies. If a slot looks available in the form but is marked full on the planning sheet, trust the sheet. If there is any mismatch, we will follow up with you directly to find a good alternative.
I strongly encourage you to open the planning sheet first, decide which days and times you want, and then go to the volunteer form and select those exact slots.

A note about DragonCon’s Eventeny form

DragonCon’s Eventeny application is only for volunteers who will be working enough slots to qualify for a free admission badge through DragonCon. The Eventeny form for DragonCon is already open this year for both new and returning volunteers.
  • If you are planning to work fewer than 5 slots, do not fill out the Eventeny form at all; just complete the AtlantaPFS DragonCon volunteer form and we will schedule you from there.
  • If you expect to work 5 or more slots and qualify for a DragonCon badge, you must also complete the Eventeny application. On that form, Campaign RPGs does not currently appear as a department option.
    • If you see an option that clearly corresponds to our area, choose it.
    • If you do not see a Campaign RPGs option, select “Other” and use the comments or notes field to state clearly that you are volunteering for Campaign RPGs with AtlantaPFS and that your application should be routed to Brooks for processing and assignment to Joel. This “Other with a note” approach is especially important for new volunteers whose department list is more limited.
This lets DragonCon’s system know you are part of our crew and lets us match your badge eligibility to the same slots you have scheduled on the AtlantaPFS volunteer form.

What I am asking you to do

  1. Skim the Volunteer Positions, Volunteer Information, Convention Requirements, and DragonCon Volunteer Guide pages so you know what each role entails and how the weekend flows overall.
  2. Open the planning schedule and decide when and how you want to help.
  3. Go to the DragonCon 2026 Volunteer Form and self‑schedule up to 6 slots you are truly willing to commit to.
  4. If you want to work more than 6 slots, submit the form with 6 and then email me at joel@atlantapfs.org so we can discuss expanding your schedule without burning you out.
  5. If you will be at the 5‑plus‑slot level and qualify for a DragonCon badge, complete the Eventeny volunteer application, making sure to tag yourself as part of Campaign RPGs / AtlantaPFS, or choose “Other” and note that explicitly if Campaign RPGs is not listed.
Whether you are running high‑tier tables, anchoring HQ, or making sure brand‑new players survive their first scenarios, you are what makes Pathfinder and Starfinder organized play at DragonCon work. Thank you again for everything you have already done and for considering volunteering again this year.
If you have questions about roles, scheduling, or what might be a good fit for your experience level, reply to this email or write to joel@atlantapfs.org and I will help you sort it out.
